Jake and Courtney met through Bumble and then Jake asked Courtney if she wanted to go to a Magic Show for their first date (this is important for later). Courtney's friends thought this might be a red flag, but Courtney loves magic so she couldn't say no. They went on a few more amazing dates and then quickly went long distance for a month while they traveled the world - but distance indeed made the heart grow fonder, and they made it back to each other in Chicago. Since then, they've traveled to many places, including their favorite place in the world, Switzerland (which is where they will be getting married in the Spring), they moved in together in 2019, and got the sweetest pup named Marvin in 2020. After surviving the test that is working from home (and doing everything from home) together for over a year, they figured they could make the lifetime thing work. So, in October of 2021 Jake took Courtney out to the Chicago Magic Lounge again and proposed! The two of them will be running away to Switzerland with their immediate families in June of 2022 to get married, and then would love to celebrate with all of their family and friends on September 3rd, 2022 with a Chicago River / Lake Michigan cruise (fireworks provided by the great people of Navy Pier, food and beverage provided by Jake and Courtney).
