Question

What are the safety requirements for attending?

Answer

UPDATE! New York has dropped testing requirements for weddings this summer! We are, however asking that unvaccinated guests get tested no more than 72 hours before the wedding. For vaccinated folks masks will only be required when approaching the bar or food stations, so please bring one or you'll be stuck sending a better prepared friend to the bar all night! Vaccinated guests may be maskless whenever not approaching the food stations and bar. Unvaccinated folks must still be masked indoors when not eating, per NY law.

Question

Where can we get COVID tested for free before the wedding?

Answer

We recommend City MD. They are safe and clean, offer PCR or Rapid testing, and are free. You do not need an appointment to be tested, but we recommend going early as later in the day the wait tends to get long (you will be able to wait in your car). The nearest City MD is located at: 363 Willis Ave, Roslyn Heights, NY 11577 There are additional locations throughout the 5 boroughs and Long Island. Results will be emailed and you can bring the results on your phone, no need to print them. A small mid-May update- waits have gotten much shorter, we still recommend going earlier in the day, but lately in Manhattan the wait has been under 15 minutes, and we would expect Long Island is similar.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We're having an unplugged ceremony! We're asking that everyone please keep your cell phones and cameras put away during the ceremony, as we'll have a professional photographer to capture every moment, and we'd like our guests to simply enjoy the ceremony! You are free and encouraged to take all the photos you like during the reception though!

Question

Which airport is best to fly into?

Answer

La Guardia and JFK are fairly equidistant to the area, but traffic tends to be better from La Guardia. We do not recommend flying into Newark airport as you will have to travel through the city to get to Long Island, this can take up to 2 hours.

Question

Is dancing allowed at NY weddings?

Answer

Yes! Bring your dancing shoes! Dancing has been approved for weddings in New York this summer!

Question

Will the wedding be outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be mixed indoor and outdoors. The ceremony site will involve a short walk on grass, something to keep in mind when choosing shoes!
