Best Man
Wow,... STEVE-O is finally getting married!!!! Pinch me please!! I never thought this day would come!!!! I've known Steven Vu since I was a little kid in elementary school. The first day we met each other we became best friends!! We survived through each grade together, going to the same middle school and high school too.. battling teachers, homework, recess, girl crushes, and just you know, regular kid stuff... we were inseparable! Once we got to college I pursued my dream to become a firefighter and I got married. Steven served as my best man at my wedding in 2012, and I am honored to be his best man in his!!⚡️
Matron of Honor
I met Sheems at UCLA and we instantly bonded over our shared smallness, love of noms, and San Fernando Valley upbringing. We've done so much together - late night planning for big events in college, weekly exercise meetups to hold each other accountable, weekend hangouts with all our Kyodo buds, and lots of snacking in between. And now, I get to watch her marry her perfect match! I'm so happy she's found her balance in Steven, and I'm excited to be a part of their special day!
Groomsman
I’ve known Steven all his life. I am the eldest and wisest of the Vu boys. When we are together it’s always a laugh, it’s always fun, and we’re always full of good food.
Bridesmaid
I’m a scientist who works in biologics, analytical operations and Yoshimi’s older sister. I admire how clever, caring, considerate and creative my sister is and the man who stands by her side through thick and thin, navigating their lives together. Cheers to Yoshimi and Steven starting their story of marriage! I am honored to be a part of their new chapter as they say “I Do.”
Groomsman
The tallest, funniest, most handsome of the Vu brothers, Jimmy is one of Steven’s best friends. Co-survivors of the One Chip Challenge, but don’t ask us to do it again Yoshimi, you can find us either cheering our favorite sports team or being fatties eating our favorite foods. At the wedding, you’ll find Jimmy tearing up the dance floor or hogging the photo booth.

Yuki and Yoshimi first bonded while sitting through their boyfriends (now husbands..!) endlessly quoting and reenacting scenes from the Jean-Claude Van Damme classic Bloodsport (🙄). Since then they've become adventure partners - they've frozen together in Iceland, melted together in Death Valley, and got drenched together backpacking in the Sierras. No matter the situation, they've always found a way to enjoy the moment together!

Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down and i would like to take a minute just sit right there ill tell you how i became friends with this little asian kid with no hair. JK this is my ninja I met on the mean Streets of Simi Valley. We quickly bonded over our love of basketball and gradually hung out more with our mutual friends. I was his wing man and DD during our clubbing days. He wouldn't pick up any girls so I'm surprised this is happening. lol. This my dude though and can't wait to stand by his side. Just don't make me cry dude.
Bridesmaid
I have known Yoshimi for… 14 years! We met at UCLA NSU & Kyodo Taiko becoming closer those late “study” nights at my apartment with our taiko team and the endless Kyodo shenanigans. We have experienced Las Vegas (multiple times), Joshua tree and NYC together over the years -meeting Steven somewhere in between all of that back when he had hair. Always knew Steven was the one for Yoshimi and so happy to call him a dear friend as well. Yoshimi has always been small but mighty - the most thoughtful person remembering special dates, sending pick me ups and going over the top for friends and family. I am so grateful to be standing by her side because she is the most beautiful bride inside and out! (Steven, you aiiiite)
Groomsman
Legend has it that Yoshimi united the powers of Steven and Chensy approximately 10 years ago. Their bromance was birthed on the Rage Cage battlefield. By channeling the spirits of Van Damme, Schwarzenegger, and Stallone, Steven and Chensy vanquished countless unsuspecting foes by trapping them in their powerful cage. Since then, the two have been inseparable and unstoppable. Over the years, they've traveled the world together, clapping and dancing their way across the glaciers of Iceland, up the mountains of Yosemite and San Jacinto, and through the deserts of Death Valley. As they approach, a low whisper can be heard in the distance announcing, "GET YO BIRDSEEEED!"
Officiant
I met Steven at CSUN through a friend. Since we were both trying to get our Biology BA degree, I convinced him to take all the same classes as me so I could have a study buddy. Instead of studying and making our asian family proud, we just lived college life to the max. Because of that, we became brothers and were dubbed as the Kings of Catalina Island by our Marine Ecology professor (long story, find me if you want to hear it). Also, it is my fault for Yoshimi and Steven to spend a lot of money on this wedding... to be honest, I didn't know this would happen when I introduced you two (LOL).
