Round 2

Ours is a story only God could write—one of grace, redemption, and the kind of love that only grows stronger through surrender. We first met when we were young—just 19 and 21—and quickly fell in love. After only eight months, we were married in 2011. Though our love was genuine, we were still growing into who we were meant to be. Without understanding the true foundation of marriage, we unknowingly hurt each other in ways we couldn’t yet heal from. We divorced, thinking our story had come to an end. But even then, God was not done. Over the years, Steven would gently check in on Perla—never with pressure, just a quiet reminder that the connection still existed. We never truly lost communication, and now we know why: because God was still writing our story. In February 2025, Steven reached out through an Instagram message—the only way he could find her. Perla had been off social media for months and almost ignored the message, assuming it might be a distraction. But deep down, she sensed something different. What seemed random was, in fact, divine timing. When we saw each other again, it didn’t take long to realize what God had been doing in the years apart. We had both changed. Grown. Matured. But more importantly, God had transformed our hearts. He had drawn us closer to Himself, teaching us to love Him first—so that we could love each other well. Now, we look at each other and wonder how we were ever apart for so long. We are truly inseparable, full of joy, and grateful beyond words. What we have now is not just a second chance at love; it’s a brand new beginning built on faith, friendship, forgiveness, and the unwavering goodness of God. We are so excited for all the Lord is doing through us and in us. Our marriage is not just about us—it’s about Him. He is making a testimony out of our story for His glory, and we are honored to share it with those we love. This isn’t just a love story. It’s a redemption story. And it belongs to Jesus.
