In 5th grade, LISD would celebrate 5th-grade graduation by having all three elementary schools combine for a day at Hawaiian Falls. Little did we know, we would be meeting our future spouses at the Pipeline Plunge. Fast forward to 6th grade, we started texting on our flip phones daily. Homecoming arrives, and during halftime of that stormy football game, Steven asked Natalie out with her very first HOCO mum (courtesy of the Jonke family), and the rest is history.
In high school, our relationship proved to be very different from the two shy middle schoolers that rarely talked in person. We were very competitive in both our GPAs and sports in high school. In our Freshman and Sophomore years, we started to get to know each other's families. Steven quickly learned that he was petrified of my 6'5" ft. German father and hated that his presence induced Elise's wicked farts. On the other hand, Natalie learned that she LOVES Asian food and Mrs. Christina's cooking. Junior and Senior year, Steven and Natalie attended several dances, of which she won Homecoming and Prom Queen, and Steven won nothing. LOL.
We both attended the University of Arkansas to cheer on the Heart Break Hogs post-high school. We both joined Greek Life, and we quickly learned that when Steven gets a little too much to drink, he likes to run away from Natalie. One of the great things about joining Greek Life was meeting some of our lifelong friends and creating memories that we will never forget. Summer going into senior year, we welcomed our first fur-baby, Bentley. Mr. B (the cutest mini-Aussie you will ever see) has been a blessing to both of us, and yes, he will be at the wedding as the Best Boy.
