Question

What is Israeli Memorial Day?

Answer

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yom_HaZikaron Memorial Day (beg. April 24 in the evening & ends April 25th in the evening) begins with a siren at 8 PM to commemorate the fallen Israeli soldiers and civilian victims of terrorism. The entire country will come to a standstill and have a moment of silence that will last for one minute. There is a second siren on April 25th at 11 AM for two minutes. The 24th is a regular day leading up to the siren at 8 PM. Stores and restaurants are open but do not expect a party or lively nightlife scene. The 25th is full of ceremonies, and stores and restaurants are open, but it is a low-key day. The evening of the 25th transitions into Israeli Independence which is covered in the other FAQ

This year is Israel's 75th birthday, due to this milestone there are expected to be a lot of diaspora Jews visiting the country, this is why it is important to book your hotel ASAP. Important - April 26th is a holiday and generally, stores and restaurants are closed. There may be a few stores open, but people are typically either out BBQing or on the beach.

Question

Areas in Tel Aviv

Answer

Old North - lively Tel Aviv Port, a nightlife hub with classy Mediterranean bistros and sea-facing cocktail bars, as well as hip techno dance clubs in converted warehouses. A long boardwalk lined with chic cafes, swimming beaches, and mainstream fashion boutiques draw the daytime crowd. Dizengoff Street is known for its luxe Israeli designer brands. Nachalat Binyamin - Open-air markets with various stalls and knick-knacks. Neve Tzedek - Artsy Neve Tzedek has avant-garde design stores, fashion boutiques, and handicraft shops, as well as a weekly farmers’ market in HaTachana, a restored railway station. Trendy European restaurants sit alongside stylish bistros, and many of the area’s al fresco cafes turn into live jazz bars and cocktail lounges at night. The Suzanne Dellal Center showcases contemporary dance, while surfers head to beaches nearby. Florentine - Up-and-coming Florentin owes its hipster vibe to its bohemian cafes and its laid-back bars with craft beer and live jazz bands. Jaffa - An ancient port city, Jaffa is one of Israel's diverse cities. You can find a great schwarma (Doner Kebab) and Arabic sweets. The wedding venue is located in on the border of Jaffa and Tel Aviv, near an old clock tower constructed in 1903 commemorating a sultan from the Ottoman Empire.
