I decided to visit my friends the Petrocellis in San Rafael for a weekend. Misty Petrocelli informed me that she had a friend for me to met. However, I did not put to much stock into it. While visiting we just decided to travel into downtown San Francisco. Me, Matt and their son Rocco decided to take the ferry in, while Misty and Isla would drive in and park. After hanging in the city for a few hours, we stop at hotel to warm up and get a drink. After that, just before we left the city and while walking to the car to leave we just so happen to stroll past the location where Leslie was doing Metropolitan Witnessing . Misty said "Steven, this is Leslie who I told you about". Leslie said hi and no more. While driving home, I mentioned inviting Leslie over for a drink that day. Misty texted her to come over. Happily, Leslie accepted and came. After she left ,Misty asked if I wanted her phone number I said yes. I called and the rest is history.
Steven failed to mention how painful our first interactions were. A couple of questions and then absolutely no conversation after that. So imagine my surprise when I saw the text that Steven wanted my phone number. In the following days, I came to see that his silence was not a permanent fixture. As the weeks and months passed by, he clearly displayed the qualities that I prayed for-courage, humility, honesty and a great sense of humor! I'm am grateful to Jehovah for giving me this undeserved gift in Steven.
