Lauren planned a night with her friends to go to dinner at Ale House Restaurant, her friends invited a friend, who invited Steven. None of Lauren's friends knew Steven since he went to Bolles High School and they all went to Creekside High School. Once he saw her, Steven had moved over to sit next to her. They began talking and getting to know each other more, and Lauren invited everyone back to her house to hang out. They hit it right off, and went on their first date 3 days later. The rest is history!

Steven got a call from one of his friends, now groomsmen, Andrew Moore, who lives in Savannah Georgia, that they had a speaking opportunity for Steven to speak at a youth conference Q & A panel, which isn't out of the ordinary, since Steven gets a few speaking opportunities in Savannah a few times a year. The day of, they drive down to Savannah to meet up with Andrew and his wife, Naomi, to go to lunch before the conference. They arrive at Forsyth Park to have lunch, and after walking up on this beautiful fountain, Andrew and Naomi step back, and Steven starts to tell Lauren how he can't wait to spend the rest of his life with her, and gets down on one knee to ask her to be his wife! A few friends emerge from the bushes and we head to lunch to celebrate. He had planned a small dinner later that night back in Jacksonville, to celebrate with "Just Family", but when they got there, 50 of their closest friends and family were there to be a part of their surprise engagement party that Steven had planned. Steven and Lauren are getting married on their 6th year anniversary, January 2nd, 2018.
