I can hardly believe it's been nearly eleven years since we first met. I, Kelly, a sophomore at Westfield State College was wandering across campus to meet friends of friends. They lived all the way across the common in Davis Hall, a predominantly freshman dorm on the edge of campus. As I neared the entrance, passing a bench ( that would soon become a hub for all of the friends I was about to make) I heard a holler from a nearby cluster of people "HEY!" he shouted " WANT TO BE MY FRIEND?!?!" Steve, unknowingly initiating the sequence of the rube-goldberg machine that is our relationship. A question, an offer, a boisterous explosion out of left field. I went over. I said yes. Not knowing that was the first (but far from the last) time I would be saying yes to Steve.
