This is perhaps one of the most iconic parks in Boulder and is very close to the ceremony site! Lovely views of the flatirons, hikes for all abilities, and is somewhere that we've spent endless days recreating in. We've included a website that let's you look through some of the hikes around there if you're looking to get a head start in planning.
Boxcar Coffee Roasters is a great spot to sip and recharge. It's located on "downtown" pearl street, so it'll put you in close proximity to a lot of the great shops and hangs of the town. Steve wrote quite a few of his papers and PhD thesis here and can't recommend it enough.
If you have a couple of hours and don't want to do too much physical activity, we highly recommend driving the Peak to Peak Highway. There should be quite a bit of lovely fall color along the road and tons of gorgeous views to take in. Lots of opportunities to step out and take photos, or just enjoy as you go!
A lovely spot for tea, snacks and good vibes. Located pretty central to Boulder and not far from the reception site. There's also a local art museum near by with a $0-$2 entry fee if you're looking to have a gentle couple of hours between the ceremony and reception.
We would be remiss to not include Southern Sun on our recommendations list. This has been the local watering hole for our community for years now and holds a special place in our hearts. After big days in the mountains climbing, running, or skiing, not much tastes better than an FYIPA and a Date burger among friends.
If you have an extra day, Rocky Mountain National Park is well worth the visit. Beautiful views, hikes of all varieties from short walks, to multiday adventures on technical terrain. We've include a link to the park, but feel free to reach out if you're looking for something in particular!
