Once upon a time, long ago in a distant land called Kroywen, there lived a young princess who was quiet and reserved in her castle. When she was of age, she set off on a journey south to the land of Adirolf in search of her one true love. Unbeknownst to her, she innocently wandered into the cursed enchanted black forest. As she wandered through the forest, she found nothing that fulfilled her heart and became lost. The princess came upon creatures of all kinds in the forest, she begged and pleaded with these enchanted animals to help her, but they too had lost their way. They took advantage of her and deceived her into being cursed and lost like the rest of them. But the princess became smarter every day that she delt with the cursed creatures.
One day, she encountered a wise frog who had watched her from afar for years before mustering up the courage to speak to her. He admired the clever way she delt with all the evil creatures in the black forest. Despite this, she maintained a poised and graceful disposition, and her voice was soothing and kind. The frog had lost his memory when he was transformed into a frog, causing him to forget that he was once a noble prince. The prince of the east was a noble knight and travelled to faraway lands to help others. There was a witch from the forest who did not like the prince doing good deeds and tricked him into going into the enchanted black forest to help a young child. Once he was in there, her power was at its fullest and she turned him into a frog. He spent many days looking for a way out but was also lost to the enchanted black forest’s curse.
The princess found the frog to be a very sweet companion, and she put the wise frog in her pocket and continued to carry him on her seemingly never-ending journey. They grew closer and closer as the years passed and created a bond of friendship that could not be broken. Little did they know, the evil witch was lurking in the shadows, watching their every move. The witch knew the couple’s kiss was the key to breaking the curse, and was the only way to free them from the enchanted black forest. The witch wanted the princess and the frog to endure their suffering in the black forest forever. So, one day, the evil witch distracted the princess with a mirage of shoes and purses. Then, the witch snatched the frog from the princess’s pocket and sent him to the other side of the forest, hundreds of miles away from the princess. The princess longed for her true friend over the years while he was far away.
He wandered the forest again, and the years passed as he was tormented by many other evil witches along the way. Then, one day he hopped along a stream where he heard a familiar voice singing a song. It was the princess! The princess was elated to see her friend the frog and they shared a meal together. The frog always had feelings for the princess since he laid eyes on her. He admired her wonderful qualities and truly loved her. However, he was afraid to admit it to the princess as he could only see a frog in his reflection on the pond. He forgot that he was a noble prince that she deserved.
Both the prince and princess gained much wisdom during their years of wandering in the forest. They learned to listen to the voice within that whispered the truth to help them fight the deception in the forest. The night that they were reunited, their love created a magical presence in the air. The wind blew through the enchanted forest and that presence called out to the princess and frog on this special night. That voice (God) brought them closer together, and the princess took a leap of faith and kissed the frog. The curse was broken!
A white light beamed over the forest and the wind blew furiously. The forest was washed with love and new life and the bright colors returned to all of the plants. The frog turned back into a prince, and they travelled on a magical boat filled with God’s love. Their special bond and true love was able to break the curse throughout the forest, turning all the creatures back into their true selves. It inspired others to also find true love and be gracious to each other. Both the prince and princess realized that without being trapped in the evil enchanted black forest they would have never appreciated the gifts that God had been preparing them for. They knew they could face any challenge with God being the center of their lives. They were to be wed on the 19th of April and live happily ever after.
