FAQs

Question

What's the vibe?

Answer

We are imagining a backyard party with all of our closest friends and family. The theme is (loosely) Hawaiian. We are hoping for sunshine so that we can spend a beautiful Summer Michigan day hanging out on the beach and in the backyard with all of you!

Question

What time is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at 2 PM, so please arrive by 1:30 PM.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, we will be celebrating in the backyard for the rest of the day/night. We will have food, treats, drinks, games, music, and lots of fun and hangin’ out! Please plan to join us in our celebrations! There is no set end-time, so stay as long as you are able!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

There is not a strict dress code. Wear something casual but nice that you’re comfortable in and that makes you feel happy and summery! For the ladies, a sundress or a nice shirt will do, and for the gents, a button-down or a Hawaiian shirt is recommended. Both shorts and pants are fine, and shoes are optional (we recommend against wearing heals as the wedding will take place on the beach and in the backyard). The bridesmaids will be wearing light pink, and the groomsmen will be wearing blue Hawaiian shirts.

Question

What kind of food will there be?

Answer

We will be having an island-style meal of Jamaican food from Jamaican Jerk Restaurant in Port Huron! There will be a delicious menu of jerk chicken, Jamaican rib tips, rice & peas (aka rice & red beans), mac & cheese, vegetarian sausage & peppers, and curried shrimp. We will also have limited portions of non-spicy grilled chicken for those who don’t do spice! If you have specific questions or concerns regarding food restrictions, please let us know!

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

We will have parking at the house (3541 Lakeshore Road, Lexington, MI 48450).

Question

Anything else I need to bring?

Answer

If you want to get in the water (we will be!) bring your swimsuit and consider bringing water shoes as there are spots on the beach that are a bit rocky.
