As fate would have it Steven and Emily matched and there was enough tinder to make the sparks fly. Their universes intertwined on their first date when they met for coffee in the fall of 2019. Before leaving the coffee shop Emily asked Steven if he would like to go on a drive into the foothills to see a cult property. Steven was wary of the circumstances - no cellphone reception and going to "look" at a cult property with this lady he met on the interweb was something that you heard about on the news. Thankfully Emily was pretty cute so he looked past the red flags and they had a nice afternoon sitting by a small reservoir laughing together and getting to know each other. In the beginning of their relationship the two juggled having opposite schedules with Steven working 12 hour day shifts and Emily working 12 hour night shifts but they always found moments to enjoy each others company. As time went on their jobs and schedules changed - their relationship strengthened with adventures big and small. One of the grandest adventures included buying a house together - and with it the rise of the Mallard Empire! In March of 2025 Steven pulled off an epic surprise when he took Emily on a hike to the top of Horsetooth and asked her to marry him and she said YES!
