The two first met when Steven moved to Orange County and thankfully downloaded Hinge on his phone (HINGE WEDDING SPONSORSHIP PENDING). Their first date took place in Old Towne Orange and the rest was history. Their love and affection for each other only grew after spending time exploring SoCal and then isolating together during the pandemic. When Doan got into PA school in Denver, they spent a difficult year apart before Steven eventually followed her there. They spent the next 2 years together building a new life in a foreign land that lacked good food, but they survived after trying every Asian restaurant in a 30 mile radius. Doan even tried skiing once to appease Steven and made it down the chairlift one time (there is no video proof but the toddlers on the bunny slope saw it happen I swear). As Doan finished PA school, the two packed up their cars and made the drive back to California where they now reside in the Bay Area. Steven proposed during a weekend getaway to Santa Cruz after taking Doan on the wrong hiking trail but luckily found a bird watching platform that served as the perfect setting to pop the question. He then made her go to a punk rock concert for a band that he wanted to see…what a perfect day. While Steven and Doan have been through so much together, this is only the first chapter of their story and they still have countless pages to fill out.
