Steven and Catherine were both hesitant to try online dating. In fact, Steve's mom had encouraged him to try online dating for a while, so he was pretty sure he would never do it. Nevertheless, Steve signed up on match.com and used the only flattering photo of himself....it just happened to be with Karen, his mom, from Mother's Day. Cat reached out first as a friendly reminder to Steve that he should not post pictures on a dating website of him with his exes. Steve replied, "I'm the worst." And the rest was history.....
Cat had a feeling that Steve's proposal was imminent. She would jokingly remind Steve that if he was going to ask, it should be after her nails were done, and she looked presentable for all the photos that were going to follow. Cat had also mentioned that she really wanted photos taken with all three of them as a family. Steve encouraged this. He knew that her hair would be did, her nails would be done and she would be wearing a nice outfit. Game. On. Big Oak Park, Smyrna, Delaware: The photographer was taking photos of just Steve and Cat while Zoe was playing on the playground. He had given the photographer the signal. He started speaking about their romantic path up to this moment when the photographer waved him off. The sun was NOT right and she could not get the shot. Steve was left nervously circling waiting for the photographer to give him the all clear for landing on one knee.
