I first met Samantha while working at a daycare. We got close pretty quickly, and not long after, she invited me to a party her friends were throwing — the kind of invite you say yes to without knowing it’s about to change your whole life. That night, she introduced me to everyone… including Steve. We ended up playing cup pong — me and Sam vs. her boyfriend and Steve. The girls won, of course, but the real moment happened after the game. The party got louder, someone pulled out fire batons (still not sure why), and in the middle of all that chaos, Steve and I ended up off to the side just talking. It was easy. Comfortable. Like we’d known each other longer than a few hours. I didn’t know it then, but that was the start of everything.
For my birthday, Aurora surprised me with an amazing experience in New York. It was a Stranger Things experience and I’ll never forget it. There was this really cool 3D experience where it felt like I was in the show. I remember feeling incredibly special and I was in awe she did that for me and I’ll never forget it.
It was our very first one, and we went to the Night Lights festival. Everything felt like a dream, like stepping into a real-life version of Tangled. We were surrounded by friends, laughter, and that spark of something new. We even got matching dino henna tattoos—silly and sweet, just like us. When the lanterns lit up the sky, it was pure magic. I remember looking around, but nothing compared to the way you looked in that golden glow. It was the kind of night you want to bottle up and keep forever. We ended it dancing under the stars by the stage, and I knew in my heart—I’d never forget it.
