HOW WE MET We met on Hinge! Steve messaged Yemi November 2022 but didn’t get a reply for two weeks cos obviously she had multiple baskets open 🤣 A day after chatting with Steve on Hinge, Tosan (Yemi’s Sister) told Yemi about bumble and Yemi joined Bumble, the first person to like her picture on bumble was Steve!! *He was following her everywhere 🤭* Steve didn’t think anything was going to happen cos Yemi had already ignored him for 48 hours to join Bumble but Steve tried anyways 😩 *love the pursuit⚡️💪🏼* We chatted extensively on both apps, and it seemed too good to be true. We hoped it will be the same energy over the phone and in-person. We asked each other interesting questions (e.g. What’s your perspective on prenup? How do you experience God? etc.,) that showed our personality before meeting each other in-person and, had our first video chat on Hinge talking for about 3 hours. The following week we had our first date at a Greek restaurant and went to a comedy show afterwards. Steve popped the girlfriend question on Yemi’s birthday party night 1/29/2023. We both said ‘I love you’ less than two months into our relationship. THE PROPOSAL Steve bought the ring October 2024, 1 year and 8 months into our relationship. One week before the proposal, Steve asked Yemi’s dad for permission to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage and also planned with Yemi’s friends to capture their beautiful moment. Exactly 2 years after their first date (December 29, 2022) Steve popped the big question at The Capital Grille, Rosemont IL. It was the most beautiful speech 🥺 Intentionality has been premium from day one (especially Steve😍) and we have always included God at the center.
