We met for the first time at a young adults Bible study on a Thursday night. Steve was leading the study, when he noticed Sherin—He thought she was beautiful, joyful, and radiant. A few months later, we started running into each other again and again while practicing dances for our friends’ wedding (shoutout to Josh and Karen). Somewhere between counting steps and working on dance skills, we grew fond of each other—but still just thought we were friends having fun. Then came Dallas. At the rehearsal dinner, we found ourselves talking about Jesus and dreaming about what godly community should really look like. That conversation carried into the wedding night and gave Steve just enough boldness to finally send Sherin a text—arguably one of the best decisions he has ever made. The next day, we talked for three hours while everyone else mingled and celebrated—the kind of conversation where time disappears and suddenly you realize something special might be unfolding. Our first group hangout after that was an Upperroom Dallas prayer set (because nothing says romance like worship and prayer), and once we landed in New York, we went on our first coffee date. From there, the rest is history! Since then, we’ve learned how to love one another, pursue one another, laugh often, and keep Jesus at the center of it all. And now, by His grace, we can’t wait to say “I do” and start the next chapter of the story He’s been writing all along.
