It all started on the dating app Bumble when we swiped right for each other. Bumble is your typical online dating website with one catch: the girls have to make the first move. So yes, technically I made the first move. Not gonna lie though, the conversation was okay at best (sparks were definitely not flying). We had some connections but never made any real plans to meet up. The conversation would eventually fizzle out. A few weeks later I received a message from Steve saying that he got a notification from me but when he opened his app nothing was there. I never messaged him and thought this was his way of trying to start up the conversation again. To this day we still arenât sure if the app had a glitch or Steve just wishes he saw a message from me. This time the conversation picked up and Steve finally asked me out to grab drinks. I gave Steve a handful of restaurants to choose from and he ended up picking one of my grandmotherâs favorite places called Paddyâs. She had recently passed away and I took this as a good sign. We met up on marathon Monday and immediately felt a connection. Neither of us wanted the date to be over and we ended up closing the place down. That night we made plans for a second date and the rest is history. Itâs true what they say, âwhen you know, you knowâ.
