This isn't the closest hotel, about a 15 minute walk (about 1/2 mile). But we love the rooms, the Library Bar on the first floor and Bruno the parrot.

There are many other closer hotels, but we are really fond of this one, too. Right next to the Detroit Institute of Arts. A couple of miles from the Gem Theater so you can walk if you have a spare hour or so, drive or take the Q Line down Woodward Avenue to get you most of the way there.
