Do I need a rental car?

Do I need a rental car? If you’re coming just for the wedding events, you can manage without one — ride-share services like Uber are available around Kona, but with longer wait times. That said, if you’d like to explore more of the island (Volcanoes National Park, coffee farms, snorkeling beaches, waterfalls, etc.), we highly recommend renting a car for convenience and flexibility. Because Uber is less dense here, sometimes the wait time is longer than what you may be used to in big cities.

What’s the weather like?

October in Kona is warm and sunny — typically mid-70s to mid-80s during the day, and cooler in the evenings by the water. Pack light, breathable clothing, and don’t forget sunscreen.

What should I wear?

Attire: Island Cocktail We invite guests to dress in elevated, island-inspired cocktail attire. Think light, breathable fabrics; flowy or tailored silhouettes; and a polished but relaxed feel appropriate for a country club setting in Hawaii. For women: midi or maxi dresses, soft colors, or romantic prints are perfect. 
For men: suits or dress shirts with trousers or linen blends — ties optional. Please avoid overly casual beachwear (flip-flops, shorts, sundresses) or very formal black-tie attire. Our celebration will be outdoors, so we recommend shoes suitable for walking on the beach. Flip flops will be provided! 🩴

What else should I do in Kona?

Kona is paradise! You can snorkel at Kealakekua Bay, hike in Volcanoes National Park, sip coffee from a local farm, or just lounge on the beach. You can find a list of our favorite recommendations on the 'Things To Do' page.

You bet. Consider it our way of saying mahalo for celebrating with us. Just remember: what happens after the Mai Tais is between you and your Advil

Where should I fly in?

Answer

The closest airport is Kona International Airport (KOA), just 20 minutes from Kailua-Kona and about 10 minutes from Kona salt farm, where our wedding will take place. This is the most convenient airport for our events.
