Maid of Honor
I first met Katie in kindergarten at St. Andrew’s School, and we’ve been close friends since. We had amazing summers together camping, riding horses, and taking spontaneous trips to the beach. Through it all, we grew to be sisters. Even though I live in Colorado, she is my rock!
Best Man
Steve and I met each other as music majors at LSU and quickly grew close pledging Phi Mu Alpha and playing daily racquetball, where I once accidentally gave Steve a black eye (I still swear I didn't hit him). When I moved to Austin in 2010, we immediately re-connected as neighbors, music snobs, and frisbee compatriots. I hold the record for moving Steve across the country in a U-Haul not once, not twice, but thrice. Steve was my best man when I married Jenica Jones in 2012. As Steve's best man, I will do my best to not lose my pants on the big day.
Bridesmaid
I met Katie at the UW’s Denny Hall bike racks on the first day of grad school. I was a bundle of nerves; Katie, on the other hand, was calm, confident and so friendly that I couldn’t help but fall in love with her! We’ve been friends ever since and I could not have asked for a better adventure buddy these past 6+ years. Katie has an incredible love for adventure—we’ve gone on backpacking, kayaking and skiing trips together. And when Steve willingly joined for a winter trip to go cave spelunking at Mt. St. Helens, I knew she had met her match! I can’t wait for more adventures with you two in the future!
Groomsman
Steve and I met the day he came home from the hospital. We have been fighting over video games and routinely injuring each other ever since.

I met Katie in graduate school, in an unknown class, at an unknown time. Orbiting in the same circles for a long time, we finally collided spectacularly - bonding over shared love of travel, organization, kitties, entertaining, and a similar approach to life. From when I saved Katie's life as she was falling out of an airplane to that the time she helped me out of a spot of trouble with the tigers in South America, it has been one marvelous adventure after another. Katie, I can't wait to be there for this new wonderful journey. Steve, welcome to the non-consanguineous family!
Groomsman
Steve and I met in Tiger Band at LSU in 2003. The next semester, I became his big brother as he pledged Phi Mu Alpha. We reunited in Austin, TX in 2007, where we taught at rival high schools, occasionally threw a frisbee, and always celebrated the holidays on ice. Steve and I both attended University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (one of us with more success than the other) and completed degrees at the University of Texas.
Bridesmaid
I met Katie just before grad school started, after having moved to a new city where I knew absolutely no one. I'm pretty sure that Katie came up to me, because I was a lot shyer back then, and it is Katie's nature to be kind, friendly, and welcoming. I didn't expect that she would become one of my best friends, and I'm so thankful for that. Being friends with Katie means having someone who will be just as competitive as you over a silly round of Uno!, having someone down to play hooky and drink wine on a sunny patio, and having someone who will go above and beyond to support you when life isn't going your way. After all these years of having Katie in my life, she has become like a sister to me, I am so honored that she has chosen me to stand with her on the happiest of days this fall!
Groomsman
Katie may be the last person that Steve will build a happy home with, but she wasn’t the first. Steve and I were fortuitously introduced to each other by Steve's best man Nathan when I moved to Austin in 2011. When Steve returned to Austin in 2012, Steve and I pledged our life-long commitment to each other by signing a one-year lease on Hart Lane, and then renewing it a year later. After two years of cohabitational bliss, we went our separate ways. Steve landed in Seattle and I ended up in Florida. Nonetheless, our friendship knows no geographical bounds. Now, Steve has someone else to awaken with his (way too) early morning grinding of coffee beans.
Bridesmaid
Six years ago, on one picturesque evening on a rooftop overlooking downtown Seattle, Katie cooked me (and about 20 others, but I like to think it was just for me) some killer BBQ chicken and other seriously yummy dishes. It was in that moment that I knew we were meant to be-- if not for Katie’s witty and charismatic personality, then for her sweet sweet cooking skills. You inspire me to do better, run faster, and laugh harder every day. “What would Katie do” is quite literally my mantra in pretty much every situation. Life would be boring without you and I am so grateful to have you and Steve in my life.
Groomsman
Steve and I first met in circuits class during our first semester in UT's engineering program. We quickly teamed up to face the challenges of linear equations, Assembly programming, and being the two "old dogs learning new tricks" in a second undergrad program. We had so many late-night phone conversations about school projects that at one point my partner, Erin, was convinced that this mysterious "Steve" had to be a cover-up! We shared love of good beer, bad puns, and finding the humor in any situation, which propelled us through our four years at UT and has kept us laughing together ever since. The first time I met Katie, I knew Steve had found his match: someone who could love him for who he is, laugh at his bad jokes, and be the perfect partner to take on all of life's adventures.
