Getting There & Where to Stay

The Wedding Website of Steve Dussé and Elana Cydney Vollen
Here's some information about the wedding site; how to get there and where to stay. Redgate Ranch is located at 270 Madera Lane, San Gregorio, CA 94074

Travel Note

About the Site & What to wear

The Redgate Ranch, owned by our dear friends the Jones family, is a pristine 625-acre ranch and remote event space in the San Gregorio valley on California’s “Slow Coast.” With rolling hills, green pastures, two creeks, shady groves and breathtaking ridgetop ocean views, this is natural terrain for all kinds of outdoor activities. The wedding and reception areas are rustic, please wear comfortable shoes for walking on uneven ground, grass and dirt with occasional gopher holes. Dress in elegant comfortable layers as the weather could be anywhere from sunny warm to foggy cold. The entire event is held out of doors for the duration so please brings lots of warm stuff for after the sun goes down. Expect the temperatures to drop as the sun sets. Best to check San Gregorio weather close to the event.

How to get there from Highway 1

Highway 1 is the California Coast road. To get there from the North (e.g. SFO) take 101 South or 280 South to 92 West to the Coast (Half Moon Bay), then head South on 1. To get there from the South (e.g. SJC) , take 101 North or 280 North to 92 West to the Coast (Half Moon Bay), then head South on 1. Head East on Highway 84 (La Honda Rd) at San Gregorio (approx 11 miles south of Half Moon Bay). Go 4 miles exactly and look for a blue CALL BOX sign. Turn left there at Madera Lane. Follow the road a short distance as it bends around and you cross a small bridge under some giant eucalyptus trees. Look for the old, red metal gate on the left/north side. If you see the Surf Naked sign, you know you’ve found it. Drive up 1/4 mile until you see the Shackteau with the red roof. Parking is up to your right.

Travel Note

The scenic route from Interstate 280 Woodside

If you're OK with a scenic windy road; Head west on Woodside Rd./Hwy 84 through the Town of Woodside and follow it up the hill. At the summit is the intersection with Skyline Rd/Hwy 35 (Alice's Restaurant on the right). Proceed across Skyline staying on Hwy 84. In about 7 miles you'll pass through the town of La Honda, note 35MPH. About 4 miles past La Honda, you'll see Driscoll Rodeo Grounds on left and you only have a little more than a mile to go. Near the 5 mile mark past La Honda, you'll come to Madera Lane. There are two entrances (it's a loop road). Pass the first entrance, turn right at the second, western entrance (just past the blue CALL BOX sign).
