After a hell of a year, bald and daring Annie reentered the music scene for her first festival of 2013, Disc Jam Music Festival in Brimfield, Massachusetts with her Burlington family in tow. Upon setting up her tent, Annie was introduced to a few mutual friends, and turned around to be face to chest with a tall boy with a flat brim hat and gascan shades, Steve. After running into one another endlessly at that festival, the two would go on to bump into each other multiple times that summer, whether at Camp Bisco or City Bisco. They found that they seemed to link up and talk. Eventually, through the power of social media, the two were able to connect and exchange phone numbers. After months of texting, they made plans to go see Conspirator at Higher Ground in Burlington together, and Steve would crash at Annie's apartment after with a friend. The moment Steve walked into her apartment, Annie knew where things were going, and as the night progressed with ease and comfort, Steve knew as well. After some back and forth between Massachusetts and Vermont with the love and help of Tom Pianka, Steve moved into 242 South Winooski, Burlington, Vermont. Annie and Steve meshed together like two peas in a pod. After 50 or so Disco Biscuits shows all over the country, trips from Vermont to Colorado to Paradise California, their brief but beautiful home, the two settled in nicely in their Boonton, New Jersey apartment with cats Huxley and Gizmo.
After a long summer, Steve and Annie headed to the airport to board a flight to Fort Meyers, Florida. They picked up Grandma Doreen's car and said hello to a few friends before taking the ride to Captiva Island to meet up with Lisa, Aristides and the girls. After settling in, the two snuggled in for the night and fell asleep. The following morning, both were greeted with Mimosas and the gang packed up to head to the beach. After spending a few hours in the water drinking beers and getting “tan,” Annie headed to the beach to take a nap, it was vacation after all! Within 15 minutes, Steve came to the beach with some drinks in hand and demanded Annie head into the water. As Annie talked to Aristides and Maddy, Steve tapped her on the shoulder and said, “Annie Del Moro..." As Annie turned around she saw Steve on one knee in the crystal blue waters of Captiva Island and immediately started to ugly cry. Without the ability to put words together, stunned, Annie became all to aware of the strawberry daiquiri in her hand now spilling all over the place; she shook with excitement. After some privately exchanged words, a couple, "are you kidding mes" and endless hugs, in front of Steve's family Annie agreed to spend the rest of her life with him. After a phone call crying to Mom, a FaceTime with Alex and a few texts, the two continued to celebrate with Lisa, Aristides and the girls (who all knew this was coming for months). During the conversations that followed that moment, Steve shared that he had in fact dropped the ring box in the ocean that he had been hiding in his hat for most of the morning just moments before proposing, but luckily was able to recover.
