What he says... I had been living in Atlanta for almost nine years off and on, climbing the corporate ladder in the hotel management industry. While life was busy with brutal work hours, and free time filled with friends and family, something was always missing. I started my new career with WeWork, and with that, came a whole new world of opportunity and work-life balance. I was swiping my heart away on the dating apps, when I stumbled upon THE ONE. My friend Jason was over at the time, and once Melissa and I started messaging back and forth, I told him, “we’re going out…” Melissa was at New Realm Brewery with her friends Mallory and Patrick, and Jason transitioned to wingman mode accordingly. Melissa and I immediately hit it off, broke away from the group and headed to Ladybird, where we had our first kiss. We talked and FaceTimed almost every day until she eventually moved to Atlanta. She’d say that she moved for her new job, but I know the real reason… What she says.... We met while I was still living in Kansas City and came to Atlanta while looking for my next news job. I had decided that after dedicating almost seven years of my life to my career in the Midwest, that I was ready to move to a big city and be closer to home. I was swiping on a dating app while in town for my first interview in Atlanta. We were on it for less than 24 hours before meeting up at a local brewery for a beer. Jordan showed up with his best friend, I showed up with mine (and my best friend's boyfriend (now husband!) #thirdwheel). Turns out our friends were both residents at Emory. Everyone left but us, and we ended up at a different bar until closing time. I came back two other times for additional interviews and we met up again both times. We kept in touch until I got the job and moved to Atlanta...we started dating when I got to Atlanta...and the rest is history!
