The Wedding Website of Christine Cornette and Stephon Martin
Our wedding will be held in our neighborhood (Edgewater) in Miami, FL. We actually live so close that we can see the venue from our balcony! The venue of our wedding is conveniently nestled between two hotels: DoubleTree & Marriott. There is also a Hilton hotel one block away, all within minutes walking distance to the venue. The hotels are beautifully located on Biscayne Bay, along a small marina. We unfortunately did not do a hotel block due to the uncertainty around COVID-19 and also due to the many accommodations options in the city of Miami. It was hard to predict how many people would stay at these hotels and the policies at the time of planning required we pay for any unbooked rooms. We hope you understand! If you need help with figuring out accommodations, please reach out to us. We are happy to help as we know the area very well!

Travel

Traveling guests can either fly into Miami International Airport (MIA) or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Miami International Airport (MIA) is about a 15 minute drive away from the venue location. Uber/Lyft is the best way to travel from the airport and will usually cost between $15-30 depending on the time of day / surge rates. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is about a 30-40 minute drive away from the venue location. The cost of Uber/Lyft depends on many factors, but the cost can be anywhere between $30-50 depending on the time of day / surge rates.

Travel Note

Other Accommodation Options

For those wishing to stay in other neighborhoods in Miami, we are more than happy to help with advice about places to stay and places to avoid. There are countless options for accommodations as Miami is a tourism city. We recommend exercising some caution with AirBnb options. Do some research on not only the area, but how far away it actually is from the venue. Many people don't realize how large Miami actually is! Just because your address says Miami, doesn't mean its close! Alternatively, somewhere that says it's only 5 miles away could actually be 30+ minutes away. For those interested in the classic Miami experience, South Beach is your most likely destination! Expect about a 20-30 minute commute depending on where on South Beach you are staying. Another area we would recommend is Brickell (downtown, city experience - about 20 minutes away). We do not recommend staying in Fort Lauderdale as Uber/Lyft rides tend to be pricey in the later evenings.
