Stephanie and Matt connected online, and once Stephanie referenced D.C. sports, the rest was history. The couple spent hours playing games, cooking meals and creating adventures all through the pandemic only to find themselves happy and in love, even surviving many work from home hours together. Stephanie loves Matt’s easy-going, patient nature and Matt loves Stephanie’s joyful nature, kindness, and selflessness.

After a year of memories and laughs, Matt realized he couldn't imagine his life without Stephanie by his side. He planned to propose to Stephanie at her annual family trip to the Outer Banks, and enlisted the help of her parents, brother Scott, and Scott's girlfriend Lauren (now fiancé!). After dinner on day one of the trip, Lauren and Scott asked Stephanie to take their photos on the beach. Stephanie should have known something was up, because Scott hates getting his picture taken. The four made their way to the beach and as soon as the coast was clear, Stephanie's mom told the extended family what was about to happen. The family celebrated, cried happy tears, then quickly scrambled to prepare a surprise party for the couple at the house. Meanwhile on the beach, when it came time for Stephanie and Matt's photo, Matt got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. As a bonus, the whole family was able to watch the proposal from the balcony of the beach house. Memorial Day 2021 was one Stephanie, Matt and the entire family will never forget!
