On February 16, 2019, Gary and Stephanie had no idea their lives were about to change forever. Stephanie was headed north on her way to go hiking. She had a certain destination in mind but as she was sitting at the red light to turn left, she hopped back on the highway and decided to go to Glassy Mountain instead. Gary was also on his way to Glassy to ride his mountain bike. Neither of them knew their paths were going to cross at just the right moment. As Stephanie pulls up to the trailhead, Gary is pulling up at the same time. He strikes up conversation and come to find out, they are the same age and both living in Athens, GA! Gary hiked up the mountain with Stephanie talking and getting to know her. Before they went their separate ways, Gary asks “this may sound weird, but would you want to go hiking sometime?” The two exchanged numbers and the rest was truly history. It was a love story that started through adventure, and has been their favorite adventure ever since. Glassy is a place they both love dearly. It is a place that is typically void of other people. A place to get away and be alone in nature. That specific day God had other plans. Had the timing been just a couple minutes off, they may have never met. They spent the next few years falling more in love every single day and becoming each others best friend. On December 10, 2022, Gary asked Stephanie to spend forever with him on the same mountain where they met. She said yes, of course! The two can’t wait to start their forever and spend a lifetime exploring the world through hiking boots and mountain bikes.
