Monticello

Thomas Jefferson’s mountaintop masterpiece showcases his genius, creativity, and love of both architecture and nature. Guided tours of the house are offered daily throughout the year, and outdoor gardens and plantation tours are available daily from April through October, giving you the chance to explore the house, grounds, and gardens while learning fascinating stories about Jefferson’s life and legacy.

A visit to Charlottesville isn't complete without a stop at the Downtown Mall. A wonderful mix of restored and renovated buildings, visitors can enjoy shopping, dining and entertainment along the brick-paved pedestrian area. The Downtown Mall is a vibrant collection of more than 120 shops and 30 restaurants housed in historic buildings along the city's Main Street.
