Stephenie met Zack bartending at Fontaine's. She had come to know him as the louder gentleman who captivated audiences with boastful story telling while swaying in the breezeway as well as "Sonny's cousin" who often came in for crablegs on the half price crableg night. Unbeknownst to Stephenie, Zack had taken interest in the bartender's...blasé attitude. So interested in her uninterest, in fact, that he never once noticed her attire or choice of low neck blouses as he was too taken by her laid back demeanor. He would brag of past business dealings, mention to her in detail the inclusions of his home bar (which she has since drank (RIP Z's bar)), and expressed his deep love for the classic G&T demonstrating that he was as quintessential as his cocktail preference but the bartender remained unswayed. One evening he stayed to the closing hour of 3 AM to ask Stephenie on a date which she agreed to reluctantly. She said they could go on a "friend date" and had him meet her the following Saturday at Park Grounds so they could have beer and watch her ill-behaved (still ill-behaved) puppy, Eleanor, play with other dogs while Minka, Stephenie's old lady dog, sat judging other dogs in the dirt. After arriving 15 minutes late and not apologizing for it, Stephenie was on the date of a lifetime. Two hours at the park, turned into a few more hours at a gay bar in the middle of the day, turned into a homemade salmon dinner and Bob's Burger's followed by a ride home. Before her eyes Zack transformed from scrub to stud and Stephenie has never been happier. Since that first 12 hour date they've built a loving, happy family, shared many pretentious evenings cooking, listening to records, being better than everyone at recycling, and taking his two children, Meadow and Miles to concerts, camping trips, movies, and all of their friend's houses.
