Joann and Stephen first met in 2023 when they were cast together in their church's Christmas play. One day during rehearsal, sitting together in the pews, Joann offered Stephen a piece of special Japanese chocolate. It was a small but memorable gesture. In a twist of irony, Stephen got sick (not from food poisoning) and missed the actual performance. ﹏ Life went on and their paths rarely crossed. Then, by God’s grace and a bit of matchmaking, Elder Song and sister Xiaoyuan reintroduced them. They met again over lunch in the church cafeteria. Even in the midst of distractions (Stephen with youth ministry and Joann with house hunting), something quiet and meaningful began. Just weeks later, Stephen and Joann started dating! ﹏ Since then, they’ve been growing together spiritually, supporting each other’s callings, and enjoying the simple joys of life: traveling, walking Joann's dogs, and trying new restaurants.
