The ceremony will take place on the beach between 3 and 4pm. Although it is not the hottest part of the day, we recommend being prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. You may want cash for the bar at the reception and possibly a sweater for after the sun goes down.
The ceremony will take place at Waimanalo beach, about a 45 minute drive from Waikiki. Guests will be transported to the ceremony and back to Waikiki. All you have to do is be ready in the lobby of the Courtyard Marriott (a 7 minute walk away from the reception venue) at 2:30pm. Don't be late!
You are welcome to dress up as much as you'd like, however, a few things to keep in mind for those new to the island style: - You will likely be taking off your shoes to walk along the beach at both the ceremony and reception - It is HOT! You may want a sweater once the sun goes down, but likely us Canadians will still be perfectly content in shorts and a t shirt at all hours - Typical dress up Hawaiian attire includes: a nice sundress (short or maxi), khaki shorts and an Aloha shirt, dress pants and a button up shirt, a nice romper, etc. Most importantly we want our guests to feel comfortable and fabulous! There is no dress code, come as you are!
We have hotel recommendations listed at varying prices, however, any place you choose to stay that is in Waikiki will be no more than a 25 minute walk away from both the ceremony pick up location and the reception.
