We have almost known each other for years, but God had a very intricate plan to bring us together. Our sisters were childhood friends that reconnected on and off through the years. Because of this, our families have volunteered at nursing homes as kids together and went to the same parties. Stephen didn't know girls existed at this time in life, and Rebecca knew nothing of Stephen other than he was Sarah's brother, in the military, and weird. Fast-forward a few years and Stephen has returned from the military and is attending Bethany Community Church where Rebecca goes. We attended career care-group together for a time, but the goofy, loud personality of Stephen was a little quieter these years. Rebecca still did not think anything of Travis's mysterious friend, Stephen, and did not remember that there were in fact two Mack sons. Fast forward one time more, and Stephen is going to Bethany Community and serving in Young Life, and helping lead Bible studies at The Blend where Rebecca works as a barista. We saw each other often, and there was a small friendship growing between us. Stephen was a beloved regular at The Blend, and we got to see each other throughout the week for a few years. Stephen pondered whether to ask Rebecca out throughout all their time together at The Blend, but wasn't sure if she was single and even more concerned that she might be 19... like his sister told him she was. Finally in January of 2020 with a little intervention from Rebecca's sister, Rachel, Stephen was informed that Rebecca was indeed in her mid-twenties. The childhood friends, Rachel and Sarah, reunited once more to host a game night for matchmaking Stephen and Rebecca. It did not take and Stephen still had no idea that Rebecca had been noticing him. After mulling it over, Stephen took a risk asking Rebecca out, and the rest is history... and lots of quarantining together! 😊
