While we later discovered that we had unknowingly crossed paths during community theatre productions several times, we finally actually met at the Capital City Jedi Knights After the Holidays Holiday Party. When Meredith started coming to CCJK practices regularly, we began to work together and discovered a mutual love of books, swords, and the outdoors, leading to us start spending time together.

Apparently it was obvious to a lot of people that there was something between us that we didn't see. When a play we were going to go see got snowed out, we decided to make the best of it and go for a night-time snow walk in a local park. At that point we each started to realize that yes, there definitely might be something there. A couple months later after one of our many visits to Longwood gardens, we decided to start actually dating.

On May 30, 2017, a cold, grey, wet day, we went to Longwood Gardens. Despite the weather, we had a delicious meal and enjoyed the indoor exhibits at the Gardens. Stephen, however, was insistent on going out to a particular area overlooking the meadow. Meredith, not enjoying the weather very much, agreed to briefly go look at the view. There, at the spot we had first truly realized that we wanted to be together in the first place, Stephen surprised Meredith with a ring and a proposal, which she very happily accepted. The rest, as they say, is history.
