Things To Do

Smithsonian National Zoological Park

3001 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

If you have never been to the Zoo it is a MUST! Be prepared to trek up and down a massive hill but the animals make it worth it. Say hi to our neighbors. Seriously! We live right next to the brand new bird building. The Zoo is always free but you might have to book a timed ticket to visit the pandas.

Open City

2331 Calvert Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

An amazing option for breakfast or a quick pastry. The hashbrown bowl is one of the best breakfast options on the menu and their coffees/lattes are some of the best!

Petit Monde Cafe

2653 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

This is our favorite cafe/brunch spot in the neighborhood! You can never go wrong with the bacon, egg, and cheese on sourdough or the chicken and waffles. This is a great place to stop and enjoy a coffee!

Via Roma

2606 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

For those of you looking for a bite to eat throughout the weekend Via Roma is a wonderful choice. They make the best espresso martini in Woodley and they make authentic Italian Pinsa (not pizza). We highly recommend the Classic Margherita, the Malafemmina, and the Rugola.

Dacha Beer Garden (Shaw)

1600 7th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

This is the best Beer Garden in the entire district. The food is unmatched, the drinks are amazing (even if you hate beer!), and the outdoor (fully covered) vibe is amazing. We love the fried pickles, the bratwurst (smoked and spicy), currywurst, and of course the monster pretzel. We cannot recommend this place enough!

Mission Dupont Circle

1606 20th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

This is one of our favorite places to go on a date night. You can never go wrong with the Mission Margarita but we highly recommend the Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita. All of the tacos are amazing and the steak quesadilla is one of the best things on the menu!

Hirshhorn Museum

7th Street Southwest, Washington, DC 20560

No explanation needed, Hirshhorn is one of my favorite art museums in the district! They always have an interesting and beautiful rotating exhibit. It is also a free museum but check the website incase you need timed tickets for any exhibits.
