Sacramental marriage is more than just a piece of paper. It is a “covenant by which a man and woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life and which is ordered by its nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring.” - Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1601 The Sacrament of Marriage is a gift that provides spouses with the graces necessary to live out their vocation to each other, their children, and their community. Please pray for us as we embark on the adventure of a lifetime, and know of our prayers for you!
We are getting married in the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church. It will probably be different from other weddings you’ve attended. The marriage itself will take place first, followed by a Nuptial Mass. If you are unfamiliar with the Latin Mass, feel free to watch the following brief video so you can know what to expect: https://youtu.be/p8m8Fq8eKXI?si=2nJtRBVaRRgqRMxL
All those attending, regardless of religious affiliation, ought to prepare for the Mass through prayerful reflection and to maintain reverent silence during the ceremony. If you are a Catholic in the state of grace, please remember to fast one hour prior to receiving Holy Communion. If you are not Catholic, remain in your pew during Communion.
