After Steve messaged Kayla on Facebook and exchanging texts, we decided it was time for our first date. We went to a familiar place.. Friendly's in Levittown. Who doesn't love ice cream from Friendly's right? We sat and talked for hours, making Steve late to his night shift. From the first date, we both knew this was something real.
We decided to go to Jamaica for what I thought was to celebrate Steve turning 30, little did I know he had something else up his sleeve. When we got to Jamaica we booked a dinner for just the two of us on the second night we were there. It was a 3 course, candlelit meal on the beach at night. What could be better? That morning we woke up and Steve was acting kinda weird. He wouldn't just sit and relax on the beach with me, he was on the phone with everyone! We got back to our hotel room and decided to relax in the jacuzzi before getting ready for dinner. Steve said he had to talk to someone about making sure we could have pictures taken of us when we went there. I thought it was strange but it was in a more secluded area. Then as we were getting ready I tried to see if he would suggest to me that I should get dressed up in case something else was happening but nope, he said it didn't matter. He was so calm so I thought it couldn't be happening. We headed to dinner and had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table. When we got there a photographer was taking our pictures, but no ring. So I went to sit down since the photographer was done, that's when he grabbed my hand. Steve started to talk to me about how much he loved me, our future, all while tearing up of course. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was crying and so excited, I was going to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
