I had just finished another semester of PA school, and Stephen and I were on the way for a mini vacation to the Keys. Stephen had mentioned that he had a special dinner planned during the trip. I thought nothing of it since we do at times like to splurge on dinner experiences on rare occasions. We began driving to dinner and he says, "This restaurant is on Little Palm Island, we're going to have to take a ferry to get there." Thinking about how sweet Stephen is, I still thought nothing of it. I actually had thought that this was something he had planned to celebrate another semester completed of PA school. An attendant of the resort met us at the ferry dock and led us to the restaurant. It wasn't until I noticed a lone table outside with a bouquet of flowers and candles surrounding the table where I had grown suspicious. Since it was a cool and a very windy evening, we were led to a balcony area that overlooked the beach as our "backup table was getting ready." Stephen then stood up and asked me if I had wanted to explore the beach. When we got to the beach, Stephen began his proposal speech and that is when there was no doubt in my mind of what was happening. We are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives together!
