FAQs

The Wedding Website of Stephen Eshner and Jennifer Newton
Question

How do I get there?

Answer

Please see the "Travel" page for information.

Question

What about lodging accommodations?

Answer

We're building a retreat-style weekend where our community can gather in one place. Onsite lodging at Whispertree will be offered to all guests at a modest cost to make staying together easy and fun. If staying offsite is necessary, there are hotels and Airbnbs nearby—but we hope you'll share the full experience with us!

Question

Are children allowed'?

Answer

Absolutely! We would love to see little ones running around and having a blast on the property. We only ask that they do not interrupt the ceremony on Saturday.

Question

Are pets allowed?

Answer

No, unfortunately pets are not allowed on the property.

Question

What about meals & beverages?

Answer

We will be providing light breakfasts and full dinners on Friday and Saturday, brunch on Sunday, and stocking the fridges on-site with some basic necessities and snacks. The rest of the meals will be self-organized. Feel free to pick up groceries and cook together, as there will be plenty of places to store and cook food. It is also a short drive to many wonderful restaurants in the area.

Question

What is the schedule?

Answer

Please see the "Schedule" page for all details.

Question

Where will the ceremony be held?

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 4:00pm. In order to get to the amphitheater, you will need to walk from the Tents, or from the Barn and Toll House up the Valley Trail. From the tents it is a couple minute walk, from the Barn and Toll House it is about 10-15 minute walk. If you have physical limitations, we will have rides available to bring drop you off up above the amphitheater. The ceremony will be short and sweet, and then you can make your way down the hill, carrying the love and celebration back to the barn and tent, where the reception will be held. Please note that walking shoes will serve you best for the walk up and down to the amphitheater. Save your party shoes for the reception or pack them in a bag, wedge or block heels recommended due to the uneven terrain. Shuttles will also be available down to the barn.

Question

What should I wear for the wedding day?

Answer

Think formal but not black-tie—elevated, celebratory, and uniquely you. Wear something fun, confident, and a little whimsical. The ceremony is outdoors, the reception is under a tent, and dancing spans indoor and outdoor spaces. Expect mild mid-April weather (60s by day, high 40s at night).

Question

What should I wear for the rest of the time?

Answer

The rest of the time, bring clothes that are comfortable for being outdoors and walking. On Thursday and Friday nights, feel free to get a little dressed up if you like, but jeans are totally fine too. Evenings are chilly, so make sure to bring layers. If you’d like to swim in the pond or use the hot tub, bring a bathing suit. Some towels are available but it will be helpful to bring your own.

Question

What miscellaneous items should I bring with me?

Answer

Recommended items would be a headlamp/flashlight, refillable water bottle, sunglasses & hat, bathing suit and towel if you will be swimming in the pond or using the hot tub, a warm jacket, an assortment of other warm layers, small backpack or bag for transporting any of your things around the property, and comfortable walking shoes. If you have any other questions about what you should bring, please feel free to reach out to us!
