In the beginning, Stephen introduced himself to Jackie no less than 4 different times. He never remembered her name and she never let him forget it. In truth, the story of how we ended up together is full of a million moments—incredible food, summer bouquets and one, fateful, shared uber ride home from a friend's engagement party. But, like most good stories, ours started long before we knew we were in it; Sixty years ago, two dads in Burlington were officiating basketball games together. Fifteen years ago, at a house party, a cheeky young man held mistletoe over the head of a girl he didn’t yet know. Six years ago, Stephen was trading Jackie shishito plants for a few rhubarb starts, and sending hearts in her DMs. It’s like the poet Swift once said, “Isn’t it just so pretty to think All along there was some invisible string Tying you to me?”
