This story will drastically vary depending upon which one of us is telling it :). According to Stephen, Ivy stalked him for weeks and twisted his arm until he gave her his number and the rest is history. Well, we all know that isn't the truth, lol. The truth: Stephen and Ivy met at church, serving. Stephen serves on the shuttle ministry and Ivy serves on the facilities ministry. After serving they were sharing a bite to eat in a communal area when a mutual friend asked them, "What have been your highs and lows this week?" Stephen mentioned how good God was to him that week, which sparked Ivy's interest. Ivy asked the mutual friend if Stephen had a girlfriend and did he seem interested. The mutual friend didn't know, but offered to set them up. Ivy declined and wanted their encounter to be organic. Weeks passed and she finally saw Stephen in church again. They exchanged numbers, but he never called. Weeks passed and once again they ran into each other at church. After that encounter he finally called and they set a date. Well they didn't go on the set date because he cancelled. So, again weeks passed and they ran into each other in church and decided to go to brunch at a nearby restaurant after Ivy finished serving. They talked for hours and realized it was 5 p.m. They decided they needed to set another date, which happened to fall on Stephen's birthday. It was then, August 13th that Stephen knew she was the one and Ivy knew God had answered her prayers. And the rest is history in the making....
At my Uncle Tee's surprise 50th birthday party and Stephen's first time meeting my father's side of the family he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was special, intentional, thoughtful and the best proposal ever!
