We met like any true modern romance begins - through a swipe on Tinder! Stephen and I were both visiting Providence over the summer of 2017 and luckily both swiped right when we saw each other's profile. It was perfect - except for the fact that he lived in Ohio, and I lived in New Jersey while also finishing school in Rhode Island. We continued to share messages and long phone calls despite the distance and a few short weeks later, we decided to meet in person in Pittsburgh. We packed the day with as many different activities as we could and wished the day would never end. That string of mini dates solidified what we were already feeling though miles apart - we were in it for the long haul. The months that followed found us traveling to see each other as much as possible, with Stephen often driving upwards of 10 hours one way just to see me for a weekend. In spring of 2019, Stephen (and our beloved cat Bean) made the big move to New Jersey where we have continued to build a home together ever since (even adding two more cats, Figgy and Fettuccine, along the way)! On a cruise to Bermuda shortly after our five year anniversary on August 28, 2022, Stephen asked me to marry him, and it was the easiest yes I've ever said.
