Answer

Yes! We mailed the Save The Dates via USPS in Puerto Rico. Please let us know if you have not received your card.

Do I need a passport to fly to Puerto Rico?

Answer

No, U.S. citizens are welcome to travel to Puerto Rico without a passport. Puerto Rico is like any other state for Americans because it is a U.S. territory. Any form of government-issued identification, like a driver's license or state ID card, is sufficient for a trip to Puerto Rico.

Do I need to exchange my US dollars to Puerto Rican money?

Answer

No, Puerto Rico uses the US dollar.

Once I’ve landed in San Juan, how do I get to the hotel?

Answer

"Caribe Hilton" is 11 minutes from the "SJU" Airport. There are several options to get to the “Caribe Hilton”: 1. Rent a car at the SJU airport, 2. Download and use the “Uber” app, 3. Hop in a taxi from the SJU airport.

How soon should I book my flight?

Answer

If you’re able to, it’s best to book your flights to/from San Juan (SJU) 3-4 months before departure. But, it’s possible you may find a flight deal closer to August 24, 2024.

When should I arrive to Puerto Rico?

Answer

We would love for our guests to, at least, arrive on Friday, August 23, 2024 to attend a welcome party on Friday evening. But, if your schedule only allows for you to arrive on Saturday, we can’t wait to see you at our ceremony!

Answer

Yes, the Caribe Hilton is wheelchair accessible.

Answer

Yes! If you would like to stay at the host hotel, please reach out to Chelsi or Stephen for access to the group rate.

Answer

No, if you prefer to stay elsewhere, feel free to do so!

Is there parking available near your wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, the Caribe Hilton provides Valet parking for $28.00, and Self Parking for $15.00 for our wedding guests.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

There is an all indoor option if there is rain. But, barring any inclement weather, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors. The reception will be in indoors.

What is the weather like in Puerto Rico in August?

Answer

Puerto Rico has one of the most unvarying climates in the world. The island is wettest and hottest in August, averaging 81°F and 7 inches of rain.

What if there’s a hurricane during your wedding weekend?

Answer

We hope and pray the weather will be perfect! Like the majority of tropical Caribbean destinations, Puerto Rico enjoys warm weather year-round, but it's also subject to an intense hurricane season. Hurricanes are a risk from June to November, with the season peaking in August and September. We suggest purchasing a refundable plane ticket, in the event that our wedding weekend has to be postponed due to an unforeseen natural disaster.

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. Bright, tropical colors are encouraged.

We ask for guests to arrive to the ceremony at 5:00pm.

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after-party?

Answer

The reception will end at midnight. At the moment, an after-party is not planned.

From relaxing at the beach to excursions, there are plenty of activities, pool bars and restaurants at the wedding venue. Please look at our "Things To Do" section for a list of activities.

Thank you for asking! If you’re able to attend our Puerto Rican fiesta, that will be the best gift we could receive. If you’re not able to attend, all we ask for are prayers for our matrimony.
