In the Summer of 2015 I had just graduated from Indiana Wesleyan, and was traveling on a summer ministry team, before becoming a youth pastor. Carol had just finished her freshman year at Southern Wesleyan, and was traveling on a summer ministry team as well. It just so happened that my team was heading to Delaware for a camp that happened to be Carol's home camp. Her team was working that camp the same week. We quickly took a liking to each other, and that is when our friendship started.

On the weekend of our two year anniversary I took a trip down to South Carolina to surprise Carol, she had no idea that I was coming. That Friday I told her that we were going to go out on a date for our two years. We went to the botanical gardens in Clemson, we had never been there together. We spent time walking around and enjoying the beauty of the gardens. Later on we took a break next to a pond on a stone wall. We reminisced about our relationship and just talked for a long while. When she was caught up looking away I got down on one knee, what happened next was very much like Carol as she asked me if I was sure. I said yes, and so did she!
