Stephen & Brittani first crossed paths in 2008 as freshmen at Richard Bland College. What began as a college romance quickly blossomed into something deeper—two young hearts drawn together with a chemistry that was effortless & unmistakable. During their first six months together, Brittani & Stephen were inseparable. Yet life, as it often does, had other plans. When Brittani returned home to Woodbridge, Virginia, after her first semester, their love endured through long drives & even longer phone calls. But with youth on their side & distance between them, the two eventually parted ways. Stephen went on to flourish at school, becoming a Resident Assistant before transferring to George Mason University. Brittani began a new journey of her own, enlisting in the United States Air Force. Though their paths diverged, they continued to grow—individually & with purpose. A brief reconnection in 2013 served as a gentle reminder of their bond, but time, careers, & an invisible string of fate kept them apart until the winter of 2023. That year, with curiosity & hope guiding her, Brittani reached out to a mutual friend to get in touch with Stephen. After reconnecting, they met for dinner—the kind of dinner where time disappears. As they talked & laughed, they realized that although years had gone by, the essence of who they were—& how deeply they cared for one another—had never truly changed. Stephen still held tight to the character & conviction Brittani admired in college, while Brittani’s generous heart continued to be the magnet that drew Stephen in. A second date brought introductions to Stephen’s closest friends, & a New Year’s Eve celebration cemented a spark that was undeniably still alive. On April 19, 2025, Stephen asked Brittani for her hand in marriage. In true partnership, they soon began a new chapter—moving from their home state of Virginia to Texas, following Brittani’s military orders. Today, they share not just a home & a future, but a shared dream of building a life rooted in love, purpose, & legacy. Whether it’s planning new business ventures or curling up on the sofa with their fur baby, Mila, Stephen & Brittani know that the love they found in college was merely the prologue to the real story—one they are now writing together, by choice & by grace, every single day.
