In the peak of COVID chaos in 2020 California, Stephen—a pharmacist at Saint Agnes—first laid eyes on Ariel, a charismatic (albeit masked and shielded) resident intern, in the ever-romantic setting of the Saint Agnes Emergency Room. Even through the layers of PPE and patients, her charm was impossible to miss. Smitten, Stephen began asking mutual friends about the mysterious intern. Soon after, at their urging, a semi-blind date was arranged. Ariel wasn’t exactly thrilled—after all, she'd never seen him in person, and his minimal social media game didn’t quite scream “her type” (ask the groom for a visual and you'll understand). But during a time when the world stood still and restaurants were closed, they took a chance, shared a seafood pasta dinner (family-style, of course) with his adorable dog Arya, and what began with a “How’s it going?” text turned into a forever kind of love.
