It all started when April's dear friend Jess Foggy came up to Stephen at a Christmas party and asked if Stephen was dating anyone. "Not that I know of....why, what are you planning?" Jess smiled and instantly started talking about her childhood friend that lived close to Stephen's sister (Kristianna) in Pennsylvania. A few days later, Jess provided April's number and Stephen made the most intimidating call he's ever made. He called April and asked her on the first date. April, playing a little hard to get, told Stephen that she'd have to check her nursing schedule, but would likely be able to figure something out. Two weeks later Stephen & April had their first date at Pizza By Elizabeth's in Delaware. Three and a half hours later Stephen ended the date by asking April on another one....and then it began!

After months of planning, March 9th 2018 had arrived and Stephen was ready to stop holding in one of the toughest secrets he had ever kept. Stephen and April returned to one of their favorite date spots, Terrain, in Glen Mills, PA. When they walked into the restaurant the hostess told them that they were seating couples in the "Mushroom House" that evening and we were welcome to sit in there for dinner. April cautiously said yes, and Stephen tried not to laugh. They walked to the Mushroom House and opened the door only to find candles, a fire, pictures of them, and a set table for the evening. They walked around the room and in each corner April found a picture of the two of them. There was also a monumental date written out in front of each picture next to a puzzle piece that she was to pick up as she went around the room. April began to figure out Stephen's plan for the night and was in disbelief....but stayed on the path and collected all of the pieces only to find the last puzzle piece sitting next to an empty frame with a puzzle that had a few missing pieces. April fit the pieces in the puzzle and it read "will you marry me?" As April figured out the puzzle, Stephen got on one knee and popped the question! After dinner, Stephen surprised April by taking her to her brother Adam's house, where Stephen's family all gathered with April's family. Stephen had talked to each of April's siblings, and her mom and dad leading up to the big day and somehow was able to get every Russo/Fedale sibling, parent, and grandparent there to celebrate. It was a special evening that Stephen & April will never forget!
