SURFING: Tofino is Canada's surf capital. Cox Bay & Chesterman Beaches are great for all levels, and you can book lessons and get rentals from Surf Sisters or Pacific Surf Co. Wetsuits are essential year round! PADDLING: If you're not keen on a surf, kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding are both great options in calmer waters at Mackenzie Beach or the inner harbor - either through a guided tour or solo! BOATING: There are a tonne of amazing whale & bear watching tour options in Tofino as well as fishing charters also available! BEACH ACTIVITIES: If you'd prefer to stay out of the water, Tofino is home to many amazing beaches, ideal for a sunrise or sunset wander! CYCLING OR RUNNING: Tofino has a long trail that connects the town to the beaches, ideal for a either cycling or running - bike rentals are widely available.
PACIFIC RIM NATIONAL RESERVE: Explore the Long Beach Unit, which includes various beaches and trails. RAINFOREST HIKES: Walk the Rainforest Trails in Pacific Rim National Park or walk the Tonquin Trail from Tofino to Tonquin Beach. ISLAND HIKES: Take a water taxi to Meares Island to see ancient old-growth Western Red Cedar trees or hike the more challenging Lone Cone Mountain Trail VIEWPOINTS: Hike or drive to Radar Hill for panoramic views of the ocean and Clayoquot Sound or hike to the Cox Bay Lookout.
