Just 2 miles from the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel is down town Portsmouth, NH. A beautiful old New England Seaside town with so much to do...restaurants - try tapas at Cava; shopping at the many boutiques; take the Brewery Tour; picnic in Prescott Park; take a boat ride to the Isle of Shoals; go on a whale watch or even a day of fishing!
Hampton Beach
Take the winding scenic 10 mile drive south along route 1A from Portsmouth, NH to Hampton Beach, NH. Pass Rye Beach, Jennes Beach and take in the luxurious sea side homes of Rye, NH. Hampton Beach is a kitschy, boardwalked beach. North beach is a surfers delight and south beach is where the action is.
Downtown Newburyport, MA
Downtown Newburyport, about 20 miles south of the Wentworth by the Sea, has been rated one of the most beautiful towns in America. An historic Sea Captain's village, it is filled with beautiful old homes that sit along a port that is a post card of of New England history. Take in seafood restaurants, shopping and a stroll along the water.
Ogunquit
About 20 miles north of Wentworth by the Sea visit Stonewall Kitchen in York, ME and then continue on North to downtown Ogunquit and Ogunquit beach.
Gunstock Mountain Resort Main Lodge
There are many many ski resorts in New Hampshire and Maine. Gunstock is fairly close by. I suggest if you are a skier to check out the many cross country and mountain ski resorts in the area.
