We're so excited to celebrate with you!

We first met in the Spring of 2012 during our sophomore year of college. We were both hired to work at the Cal Poly Campus Recreational Center, and met at orientation for our new jobs. Over that next summer, we were able to hang out and get to know each other, and started to build a close friendship. Over the next 2 years, we hung out often and maintained our friendship, but never thought of each other as more than friends. This all changed during a night out on the town in downtown SLO (at Frog and Peach to be exact) during the last quarter of our Senior year. We separately went out with close friends (Shout out to Megan, Rob, Mark, and DJ), and ran into each other on the dance floor. This night ended up being filled with lots of dancing and, ultimately, our first kiss. After this night, Eric asked Stephanie out on an official first date; to hike Bishop’s peak (very SLO of us). To Stephanie’s surprise, it was Eric’s first time on this hike, but little did we know that we would have many hikes up this mountain in the future (including with our pup, Riley!). We continued dating and enjoying the rest of our Senior year together. As we got closer to graduation, there was some uncertainty about where we wanted to take the relationship, since Steph was moving to San Francisco for her dietetic internship, and Eric was staying in SLO for his Masters. Over the next many days spent together, plus the incredible efforts of Mark, Dehaan, and Drew, we committed to staying with each other and doing long-distance. From there, we spent 4 years in the Bay Area together, added our pup Riley to our family in 2018, and moved out to Austin, TX together in the Summer of 2019. On June 17th, 2020, ~8 years after we first met, and ~6 years after we started dating, Eric got down on one knee at the top of another hike in Austin Hill Country. We are so excited to officially celebrate with all our friends and family!
